CAD Family Focus Drug & Alcohol Awareness Programme will be run in the Connect Family Resource Centre, Moneymore, Drogheda, Co. Louth, starting on the 07th November 2017

The Community Awareness of Drugs (CAD) Family Focus Drug & Alcohol Awareness programme is for professionals, parents, guardians and other responsible adults and aims to increase knowledge and awareness of substance misuse and enhance the communication skills required to talk to young people in an effective and open way. The programme recognises the primary role of parents, guardians and other responsible adults in providing support to children and promotion of positive life choices and deepens this role with knowledge and communication strategies. This programme is very relevant for parents and could also benefit professionals working both with young people and adults.

The course takes place over 5 sessions (two hour per session). The facilitators hope to create a safe environment to learn, interact and engage. The time invested will give value and benefit back to participants and enhance their ability to support young people and strengthen communities. Recruitment for the programme is still open.
